Mona Group has a long association with a number of scientific institutions. These include CERN in Geneva, the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), the University of Southampton, Bangor University and the School of Ocean Sciences, and Coleg Menai.

Our design engineers have many years’ experience in producing effectively and appropriately designed engineered solutions to challenging scientific requirements, and we back up our design and fabrication services with an inspection and maintenance service, as well as load testing services for certification and product validation. Without the proper certifications it is impossible to introduce innovative methods and techniques into such a regulated industry; with our experience, credentials, and in-house 2D & 3D CAD and modelling capabilities Mona Group have the qualifications and skills to manufacture a broad range of prototypes, process plant and bespoke lifting equipment to the appropriate and accepted standards.

Lifting & handling

Scientific research facilities frequently present complex lifting and handling requirements, particularly where over-size and fragile equipment is involved. Mona Group is similarly well placed to provide solutions to even the most challenging of lifts. Mona Group have delivered cranes and specialist lifting equipment for a number of scientific establishments including CERN in Geneva where we provided a complex lifting, handling and storage system for equipment used as part of the Large Hadron Collider.
