Mona have enjoyed a long working relationship with CERN, the European Nuclear Research facility in Geneva.
As well as the New Small Wheel bespoke lifting tool we designed and manufactured for the ATLAS project, we have designed, manufactured and commissioned a number of cranes for installation at the CERN facility.
Both 1t and 2t cranes have been delivered and commissioned; the design for both being modified COTS cranes featuring a number of modifications to strict client specification. Each crane features a fully bespoke control system that integrates variable speed drive motors, forced ventilation fans, a series of travel limit switches, and a flood lighting system. In addition, the two cranes feature a range of additional features according to the application; including either radio remote control or joystick control with radio remote control backup, and zoning sensors to ensure the crane can only operate in certain locations thus avoiding sensitive machinery.
