Bespoke fabrication, engineering and lifting systems for rail and transport infrastructure

Mona Group provides a multi-skilled engineering and fabrication service that is able to efficiently and expertly design and fabricate road-side and trackside infrastructure including:

• Foot bridges
• Road / rail bridges to highway standards
• Walkways and gantries
• Maintenance platforms and trolleys
• Handrails, stanchions and ladders
• Fabrication and on-site repair and welding of road sign gantries and columns
• Steel frame buildings to BS EN 1090

We provide an end-to-end service, from in-house 2D and 3D CAD and modelling, to fabrication, coating, transport and installation. Our steel fabrication, fabricated welded steel components, and qualification testing of welds are all undertaken to the current applicable standards.

We provide on-site and off-site blasting to SA21/2 BS EN ISO 8501 and a range of coatings and anti-corrosion coatings designed to maximise longevity of steel structures, as well as pedestrian and roadway coatings, anti-slip, anti-climb and anti-vandal coatings. We also provide an inspection and testing service covering weld inspection and testing, non-destructive testing and coating testing and reporting.

Lifting & handling

In addition to fabrication, Mona Group have decades of experience in all aspects of the lifting business. We provide the planning, expertise, equipment and personnel for the safe and controlled movement of large, heavy, or awkward objects such as structural components for buildings or bridges.

Within the rail and heritage rail sector our cranes department can design and install overhead travelling cranes suitable for traction maintenance departments, and we have undertaken the design, build and installation of locomotive and rolling stock jacking systems.

For site work, all our site employees hold a Health and Safety Training Passport or equivalent; are trained in confined space operations, working at height and hold various plant operator licenses. Management members are IOSH / SSSTS / SMSTS trained in managing/working safely or have NEBOSH Health and Safety qualifications.
