Ensuring the very highest standards of health and safety are maintained is an integrated part of our working processes, providing our team members a happy and healthy working environment where staff are empowered to challenge working practices.

A safety first culture

As a company Mona Group takes its commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of our people very seriously. ISO 45001 is the latest step in demonstrating these commitments, and is the result of sustained work in implementing and promoting effective health and safety management systems across the entire organization.

Our operating focus is on a safety-first culture, minimising occupational health and safety risks, and working towards a process of continual improvement:

• Safety – detailed Risk Assessments and Method Statements undertaken for all work, both onsite and offsite
• Dust & Fume – company issued air-fed masks for all welders to protect the operators from dust and fume, and LEV units to protect the non-welding staff and visitors
• Blast & Spray – company issued breathing equipment for all blasting and coatings processes with breathing air checks conducted at a regular intervals
• Health – monitoring for all staff with annual health screening checks
• Reporting & management – empowering employees to report any issues and ensuring effective management systems are in place

For site work, all our site employees hold a Health and Safety Training Passport or equivalent; are trained in confined space operations, working at height and hold various plant operator licenses. Management members are IOSH / SSSTS / SMSTS trained in managing/working safely or have NEBOSH Health and Safety qualifications.

Our management policies are subject to continual improvement, and are designed to promote effective health and safety and environmental management within the organisation encompassing our staff, contractors and clients.
