Mona Group’s involvement in the marine sector covers both shipping and shoreside. On the water, or in dry-dock, we provide a range of services to ships and shipping. These include on-site welding and metal work, non-destructive testing, inspections, blast cleaning and marine-specific coatings. We work to a range of recognised industry standards and our mobile team can attend anywhere within the United Kingdom.

Our cranes department has considerable experience in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of deck cranes and jib cranes. Whatever the lifting or loading requirement you might have for a ship-borne crane, our multi-skilled design and engineering department has the skills and experience to deliver a tailored solution.

Shoreside, our services within the marine sector cover everything from the design, construction and installation of dockside infrastructure including ladder ways, gangways, rails, man riding baskets, mobile access platforms and pontoon restraints, to fixed cranes for container handling or jib cranes for raising and lowering vessels.

Our specialist coatings department can provide expert advice and consultancy in marine-specific coatings (NACE/IMO Performance Standards for Protective Coatings/ISO 16145) coating testing and reporting, and a blast cleaning service, both on-site for complete vessels and structures and off-site for components.

For site work, all our site employees hold a Health and Safety Training Passport or equivalent; are trained in confined space operations, working at height and hold various plant operator licenses. Management members are IOSH / SSSTS / SMSTS trained in managing/working safely or have NEBOSH Health and Safety qualifications.
