Mona were approached by Cavendish Nuclear with a requirement for six separate cranes for the Sellafield Nuclear Reprocessing Facility in Cumbria, UK.
The cranes were required to perform various support and maintenance duties at the new-build Silos Maintenance Facility (SMF). The SMF is a new mechanical handling plant providing support during the retrieval of historic used field waste from various storage silos.
The installation of the cranes in-situ presented a series of challenges, ably met by Mona working with the SMF Delivery Team.
